How to Register

1. Go to mixi.jp
2. click on the register button. it will take you to the first registration page.
3. register your e-mail address.
   
   
4. mixi will send a message with a link
5. click on the link. go to a second registration page.
6. register some basic information and set the access:
   just friends,
   friends of friends, or
   everyone.

        your nickname and gender will be available to everyone,
        but you can set the access for the other information:

   your name,
   birthday, and
   year of birth.
7. type your password twice and then
8. check the box agreeing to various conditions
9. click the final button to register
10. you will get an e-mail confirming your registration.

Every day Mixi will send you an e-mail message which will include links to

Profile: This screen shows your photo and the number of Mixi friends you have. Their photos appear under yours and are smaller. You can see how many friends each of them has, too.

Below the friends photos appear photo/icons of the communities you have joined. There are all kinds of topics: celebrities, interests, etc.

To the right of these photos is your profile, which often includes information such as ... your gender, age, birthday, blood type, hobbies, a self-introduction, and things that you like (movies, sports, leisure activities, food, music, words, famous people, etc.).

My Mixi: Shows the photo/icons of your Mixi friends, up to 50 per page. The photo/icons have one of three background colors depending on when the friend last logged on to Mixi. A brown backgorund means they've logged on within the last day. Within the last hour is a darker shade. A white background means it's been longer than 1 day.

Photos: You can post photos on this page. Many Mixi members only have the single photo/icon that appears on the profile page.

Foot prints: When you go to this screen you can see the Mixi names of people who have visited your Mixi-page and what day and time they visited. If you click on the name, it will take you to their Mixi homepage. You can read their profile, see photos of their friends, and then ... you can send them a message inviting them to be a Mixi friend, put them on a list, or just send them a message. If you invite them to be your Mixi friend and they accept the offer, their photo will appear on your homepage (as described above).

If someone wants to become your mixi friend, you will get an e-mail from mixi which contains a link.
